The 51-acre Cypress Conservancy is located within Hilton Head Plantation. Hilton Head Island Land Trust members who live outside of the Plantation can email the Land Trust for a day pass. This conservancy is a forested freshwater wetland complex containing the only remaining, naturally-occurring stand of Bald Cypress on the Island. The wetlands support approximately 70 plant species and 115 wildlife species. This is an elevated boardwalk that leads through the wetlands to an area containing most of the Bald Cypress. The Land Trust maintains the educational signage in this area and monitors water levels needed to support this vital wetland.
