This is a wild formerly eagle nest and now an Great Horned Owl pair has adopted the nest, and anything can happen. While we hope that all eggs hatch and grow to be healthy and successful fledges each season, things like sibling rivalry, predators, illness, natural disasters as well as territorial disputes can affect the wildlife. Nature may be difficult to watch.
About seeing the nest at night: We have an IR camera using infrared lighting that is imperceptible to the eagles. If you were to visit the nest site in person at night, it would look completely dark.
Great Horned Owls are wild birds and anything can happen. This Cam does not interfere or intervene and allows nature to take its course. This live stream is intended to educate the viewers by showing nature in an unguarded fashion. You will see nature at its best, and possibly its worst. You will see life being started and sustained, in very natural ways. It is nature at her finest.

1/2/2024 - First Great Horned Owl egg is laid at 3:04 pm ET.

1/6/2024 - Second Great Horned Owl egg is laid at 4:16 pm ET.

2/5/2024 - HH5 hatched at 10:09 p.m.

2/8/2024 - HH6 hatched at 3:00 a.m.

3/23/2024 - HH5 branches for the first time leaving the nest at 1:52 pm ET

3/26/2024 - HH6 branches for the first time leaving the nest at 7:52 am ET

4/01/2024 - HH5 and HH6 fledged the nest tree
The Great Horned Owls have selected this nest as their 2024 Nesting location. This should be a great adventure to watch on the Raptor CAM.
The GHO laid the first egg at 3:04 pm ET on January 2nd with second egg laid on January 6th at 4:16 pm ET. GHOs typically lay an egg every couple of days until their clutch is complete.
