About the Land Trust
Every year beautiful and valuable open space is lost to development. To address and mitigate this, a group of concerned citizens founded the Hilton Head Island Land Trust in 1987.
Our Organization
Hilton Head Island Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1987 for the purpose of protecting the natural habitat and significant historical parcels of land on Hilton Head for the enjoyment of future generations. The Land Trust consists of a 12 member all volunteer Board of Directors and dedicated members. We have no paid staff and all operations are accomplished by our volunteer board and members.
