Fun Facts About Bald Eagles:
-
Bald eagles typically lay 1 to 3 eggs per year, with two eggs being the most common.
-
Eagles lay their eggs a few days apart. If three eggs are laid, they typically appear within five to six days of the first.
-
Eggshells are oval-shaped, dull white, and weigh about 4–4.6 ounces. Each egg measures approximately 2.9 inches long.
-
The incubation period is 34–36 days, with both parents sharing incubation duties—though the female does most of the sitting.

Keep a close eye on the Eagle CAM! We’re looking forward to the first ‘pip,’ or eggshell breakthrough, which will mark the eagerly awaited arrival of an eaglet.
